SEMSA Update
SEMSA families! We were so happy to be able to run a 2021 softball season! And while it may have looked slightly different (who knew we would need heat warning rules!) we hope everyone was able to enjoy their time on the diamond.
Now we need your help. Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) is coming up (see details below) and we are putting a call out to you for help. In order to run our program - we need volunteers to step up to some key board positions. Without a board in place - we run the risk of NOT being able to have a program for the 2022 year. We currently have almost every position open as many of our past volunteers have stepped down for a variety of reasons. We know this last year and a bit has taken a lot out of people,
The positions that are open are numerous!
- President
- Vice President
- Treasurer
- Secretary
- Equipment manager (could potentially be a team of people...)
- Communication/media
- Field booking coordinator
There would be 1 board meeting a month (through the season - usually starting in December through to June). Depending on the position - some are busier than others at specific times (ie. Equipment manager would be super busy in early April as we get uniforms and equipment organized and handed out, communication/media might be a bit busier in Feb/Mar as we get the word out about the up coming season).
If you are interested in any of these positions please reach out for more details - we would gladly explain what is entailed etc. PLEASE NOTE - IF THESE POSITIONS DO NOT GET FILLED, WE WILL HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO NOT RUN A PROGRAM IN 2022. This organization cannot function on a skeleton crew! Please consider stepping forward to fill one of these positions. Please see the attached list of positions with details about them.
Our AGM will be held via Zoom on November 7th at 7pm - At bottom of this email is the link to register for the meeting. It is at this meeting that the new board for 2022 will be elected.
Once again - please consider taking on a position as noted above in order for us to be able to continue the softball program in south Edmonton.
