Transfer Policy -
As SEMSA continues to grow, the opportunity for players to be able to play at a more
competitive level within our association also grows. The SEMSA Board is working on a plan to
offer these opportunities in the future within our own association.
Until that time, SEMSA, will affiliate with Edmonton Warriors Athletic Association (EWAA) and
River City Softball (RC) to allow our players a place to play at higher level A and B levels.
Any coaches interested in coaching an A or B level team, please contact the SEMSA board.
Our transfer policy will be as such, effective the 2023 season:
- All players living within the City of Edmonton boundaries* including past and present SEMSA players who are looking to play for an A or B team will be only transferred to EWAA and RC**
- No transfers will be allowed for U11 and under.
- No transfers will be allowed for C or D divisions.
* Boundaries for SEMSA are anywhere south of the river and the West side of Edmonton (south of Whitemud) including any areas that do not have an active Softball Association.
**If the player does not make a team within either affiliated association (tryouts must be
attended), they will then be allowed to request a transfer to another association outside of the
Zone. At that time, the board will make a decision on whether the transfer will be approved or
not. If they do not make a team or the team folds, outside of the Zone, then the transfer will be
revoked and they will be returned to SEMSA. Only one transfer can be requested by a player for
Transfers will only be accepted after the 15th of March for the upcoming season. Any transfers
sent in prior to this date will be discarded and will need to be sent in again after March 15th.
***Exceptions on a case by case basis will be up to the discretion of the board.
